1. Verify FW level is 2023.2.11 or newer
   注

   FW can be verified via the UI or Garage. If FW meets required level, skip FW update. If FW is below required level, continue to FW OTAhttps://garage.vn.teslamotors.com
2. Open RH front door
3. Lower the RH front window.
4. Remove RH mid A-pillar assembly
   注

   1x clip, 1x tab, Release the upper clip then pull mid A-pillar upward to remove

   

5. Remove clip securing RH lower A-pillar trim
   注

   1x push clip

   

6. Remove RH lower A-pillar trim
   注

   6x clips, 2 guide tabs, Pull rear of lower A-pillar upward to release clip then pull rearward to release trim panel

   

7. Release RH front door seal from body

   

8. Remove clip securing RH front cabin carpet to body
   注

   1x clip

   

9. Pull RH front cabin carpet away from A-pillar to access RH front seat connector

   

10. Move RH front seat forward
11. Release seat belt retractor from RH front seat
    注

    Insert special removal tool into the bottom of the retractor to release

    

12. Open RH rear door
13. Lower RH rear window
14. Remove RH front seat rear fasteners
    注

    2x patch bolts, T45P, 33.5 Nm, Discard after removal

    

15. Move the RH front seat back.
16. Remove RH front seat front fasteners
    注

    2x patch bolts, T45P, 33.5 Nm, Discard after removal

    

17. Adjust position of RH front seat for easy removal
    注

    Move seat to middle of track at most upright position
18. Open the hood.
19. Remove the rear apron.

    

    

20. Power off the vehicle using the touchscreen.
21. Disconnect the 12V negative battery cable and First Responder Loop.

    

    

22. Disconnect RH front seat harness from VC right
    注

    1x electrical connector, Release the lock by squeezing the release tab, Then fully disengage the lock by moving it away from the VC right, Do not force the connector, If the connector does not easily release from the VC the lock is still engaged

    

    

23. Remove RH front seat harness from RH footwell support bracket
    注

    2x retaining clips

    

    

24. Release RH front seat harness from lower A 12V bracket
    注

    5x clips

    

25. Pull RH front seat harness from under RH front cabin carpet

    

26. Remove RH front seat from vehicle
    注

    Recommend assistance, Assistant should be ready to support seat back, Caution not to damage any trim

    

    

27. Remove screw securing RH front seat outer side cover
    注

    1x screw, T20, 4 Nm, Ensure the front of the seat is high enough to access the T20 screw

    

28. Release outer side cover clip from seat, but do not remove
    注

    1x clip, Do not fully remove, possible damage to the trim/switch pack/harness

    

29. Disconnect seat switch connector
    注

    1x electrical connector

    

30. Remove RH front seat outer cover
    注

    1x clip, Slide outer cover rearward to release clip from frame and lift up over pretensioner

    

31. Disconnect RH front seat belt pretensioner
    注

    1x connector, Pull both of the orange tabs down to release the connector

    

32. Release RH front seat belt pretensioner harness clips
    注

    3x clips, Use 90 pick to release harness clips from seat track rail

    

    

    

33. Remove clips securing RH front seat switch harness to seat cushion frame
    注

    2x fir tree clips

    

34. Remove RH front seat inner side shield
    注

    3x clips, Release side clip from seat bottom frame, then pull up on rear of trim to remove

    

    

35. Disconnect RH front seat belt buckle
    注

    1x connector

    

36. Release clip securing RH front seat belt buckle connector to the seat cushion frame
    注

    1x fir tree clip

    

37. Release RH front seat belt buckle harness clips to the seat cushion frame
    注

    2x fir tree clips

    

38. Rotate the seat to gain access to the underside of the seat
    注

    Protect seat cushion from damage

    

39. Unhook the straps for the lower section of the seat back and move the seat back flap away from the underside of the seat
    注

    2x clips

    

40. Disconnect the tilt motor connector
    注

    1x connector

    

41. Remove the harness retaining clip under the tilt motor
    注

    1x retaining clip

    

42. Disconnect the seat occupied sensor
    注

    1x connector

    

43. Disconnect the CAN communication pass through connector from the OCS control module
    注

    1x connector

    

44. Disconnect the seat back heater connector
    注

    1x connector, Green

    

45. Disconnect the heat pad connector
    注

    1x connector

    

46. Remove clip securing the harness to the under side of the seat, next to the seat heater connectors
    注

    1x retaining clip

    

47. Disconnect the seat track position sensor connector
    注

    1x connector

    

48. Disconnect the lift motor connector
    注

    1x connector

    

    

49. Disconnect the seat track motor connector
    注

    1x connector

    

50. Remove the clip securing the track motor harness to the track motor housing
    注

    1x edge clip

    

51. Remove the clip securing the harness to the seat cushion frame under the lift motor
    注

    1x retaining clip

    

52. Remove the retaining clip under the main seat harness junction
    注

    1x retaining clip

    

53. Move harness away from seat frame

    

54. Return seat to upright position

    

55. Install the outboard headrest release tool
    注

    Depress the material around the headrest post to expose the release clip, Ensure both tangs of the release tool engage the retaining spring, The release tool is rotated into position, Images show headrest removed for clarity

    

    

    

    

56. Install the inboard headrest release tool
    注

    Depress the material around the headrest post to expose the release clip, Ensure both tangs of the release tool engage the retaining spring, The release tool is rotated into position, Images show headrest removed for clarity

    

    

    

57. Remove the headrest from seat
    注

    2x locking clips, Remove by pulling straight up, out of the seat

    

58. Remove the inboard headrest release tool
    注

    Rotate the release tool out of position, Do not pull straight up or out

    

59. Remove the outboard headrest release tool
    注

    Rotate the release tool out of position, Do not pull straight up or out

    

60. Remove seat back from LH front seat
    注

    6x clips, Start at the top of the seat and pull the shell away from the frame, When the side clips are free, pull the bottom and carefully roll the bottom tabs out of the slots, If pulled straight out the clips on the seat back can break off

    

    

61. Remove the upper flap securing trim to RH side of seat frame tabs
    注

    Pull the trim straight up, off of the retaining tabs to release

    

62. Remove the lower flap securing trim to RH side of seat frame tabs
    注

    Pull the lower section of trim away from the retaining tab to release, then pull the trim straight up off of the upper retaining tab

    

63. Disconnect the recliner motor
    注

    1x connector

    

    

    

64. Disconnect the lumbar valve pack and ECU
    注

    1x connector

    

    

65. Disconnect the lumbar pump
    注

    1x connector

    

    

66. Remove the outer clips securing the seat upholstery to the seat back frame
    注

    2x clips, To release, rotate the clips off of the frame from the inside out

    

67. Pull RH front seat upholstery away from the air bag to gain access to the air bag electrical connector

    

68. Disconnect passenger seat air bag
    注

    1x connector, Pull both of the orange tabs down to release the connector

    

69. Remove the harness clip securing the airbag pigtail to the seat back frame
    注

    1x fur tree clip

    

70. Remove the seat harness from seat back frame
    注

    3x clips

    

    

71. Install the seat harness to seat back frame for installation
    注

    3x clips

    

    

72. Install harness clip securing the airbag pigtail to the seat back frame
    注

    1x fur tree clip

    

73. Connect RH front seat airbag
    注

    1x connector, verify locking tab is engaged

    

74. Install the outer clips securing the seat upholstery to the seat back frame
    注

    2x clips

    

75. Install the lower flap securing trim to RH side of seat frame tabs
    注

    2x tabs, Pull the flap over the metal tangs to secure

    

76. Install the upper flap securing trim to RH side of seat frame tabs
    注

    2x tabs, Pull the flap over the metal tangs to secure

    

77. Connect the lumbar pump
    注

    1x connector

    

78. Connect the lumbar valve pack and ECU
    注

    1x connector

    

79. Connect the recliner motor
    注

    1x connector

    

80. Install the seat back shell base assembly to seat back frame
    注

    8x clips, Install the lower clips first and rotate the shell up into place, Light pressure may need to be applied to the shell to ensure it's fully seated, The headrest posts will engage the seat back when installed

    

    

    

    

81. Install the headrest into passenger seat
    注

    2x locking clips, Ensure the headrest is fully seated, An audible click will be heard when installing the headrest, Ensure the headrest is seated by tugging up on the headrest

    

82. Flip seat over to gain access to the bottom of the seat
    注

    Protect the seat back to prevent damage

    

83. Install the retaining clip under the main seat harness junction
    注

    1x retaining clip

    

84. Install the clip securing the harness to the seat cushion frame under the lift motor
    注

    1x retaining clip

    

85. Route harness towards pretensioner

    

86. Connect LH front seat track motor connector
    注

    1x connector

    

87. Install the clip securing the track motor harness to the track motor housing
    注

    1x edge clip

    

88. Connect the lift motor connector
    注

    1x connector

    

89. Connect the seat track position sensor connector
    注

    1x connector

    

90. Install the clip securing the harness to the under side of the seat, next to the seat heater connectors
    注

    1x retaining clip

    

91. Connect the SRS harness connector to the OCS control module
    注

    1x connector

    

92. Connect the seat occupied sensor and install the clip onto the seat bottom
    注

    1x connector, 1x retaining clip, Ensure harness is not routed between cushion and frame to avoid friction

    

93. Install the clip securing the harness to the under side of the seat, next to the seat heater connectors
    注

    1x retaining clip

    

94. Connect the heat pad connector
    注

    1x connector

    

95. Connect the seat back heater connector
    注

    1x connector

    

96. Install the harness retaining clip under the tilt motor
    注

    1x retaining clip

    

97. Connect the tilt motor connector
    注

    1x connector

    

98. Hook the strap clips for the seat back shell onto the seat suspension
    注

    2x clips, Ensure the straps are tight for proper fit and installation

    

99. Rotate the seat to normal upright position

    

100. Install the clips securing RH front seat belt buckle connector harness to the seat cushion frame
     注

     2x fir tree clips

     

101. Install clip securing RH front seat belt buckle harness connector to the seat cushion frame
     注

     1x fir tree clip

     

102. Connect RH front seat belt buckle
     注

     1x connector

     

103. Install inner side shield cover onto RH front seat
     注

     3x clips, Slide the trim onto the seat from the opening for the buckle, then slide forward into position

     

     

104. Install clips securing seat switch harness to seat cushion frame
     注

     2x fir tree clips

     

105. Install seat belt pretensioner harness clips
     注

     3x clips, Position seat belt pretensioner harness clips to seat track rail and press down on each clip to secure

     

     

106. Connect seat belt pretensioner
     注

     1x connector

     

107. Slide outer cover forward to engage clip into the frame and lift up over pretensioner to install
     注

     1x clip

     

108. Connect seat switch connector
     注

     1x connector

     

109. Install outer side cover clip to seat frame
     注

     1x clip

     

110. Install screw securing outer side cover to seat
     注

     1x screw, T20, 4 Nm

     

111. Install RH front seat into vehicle
     注

     Recommend assistance, Assistant should be ready to support seat back, Caution not to damage any trim

     

     

112. Secure RH front seat harness under RH front cabin carpet

     

113. Install RH front seat harness along plastic guide
     注

     5x clips

     

114. Install RH front seat harness onto RH footwell support bracket
     注

     2x retaining clips

     

     

115. Connect RH front seat harness to VC right
     注

     1x connector, Ensure the connector and lock are fully engaged, Perform pull push pull test to ensure the connector and connector lock are seated

     

     

116. Fully seat RH front cabin carpet

     

117. Install clip securing RH front cabin carpet to body
     注

     1x clip

     

118. Install RH lower A-pillar trim
     注

     6x clips, 2x locating pins, Align front locating pin first

     

119. Install clip securing RH lower A-pillar trim
     注

     1x clip

     

120. Install RH mid A-pillar assembly
     注

     1x clip, 1x tab, Align the bottom tab then push the top clip to fully seat mid A-pillar, Make sure the seal seat on top of the trim

     

121. Reseat RH front door seal along lower A-pillar trim

     

122. Connect the First Responder Loop and 12V negative battery cable.

     

     

123. Install the rear apron.

     

     

124. Close the hood.
125. Move RH front seat backward
126. Install RH front seat front fasteners
     注

     2x patch bolts, T45P, 33.5 Nm, Install new patch bolts

     

127. Move RH front seat forward
128. Install RH front seat belt retractor to seat
     注

     Insert retractor into seat pre tensioner, Make sure it locks into position with push-pull-push test

     

129. Install RH front seat rear fasteners
     注

     2x patch bolts, T45P, 33.5 Nm, Install new patch bolts

     

130. Raise RH rear window
131. Close RH rear door
132. Move the RH front seat to its original position.
133. Raise the RH front window.
134. Close the RH front door.
135. Open the LH front door.
136. Lower LH front window
137. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle.
138. Select ‘Actions’ and search for ‘OCS’
139. Select ‘PROC_OCS1P_SELF-CALIBRATIONvia Service Mode Plus:Safety & Restraints ➜ Seats ➜ OCS1P Self Capacitance Calibrationvia Toolbox:(link)’, click ‘Run’, and allow routine to complete

     Select ‘X’ at top right of window to close once complete, This routine only applies to NA region
140. Select ‘Actions’ and search for ‘Seat calibration’
141. Select PROC_VCRIGHT_SEAT-CALIBRATEvia Service Mode:Low Voltage ➜ Seats ➜ Calibrate Seatvia Toolbox:(link), click ‘Run’, and allow routine to complete

     Select ‘X’ at top right of window to close once complete
142. Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle.
143. Raise the LH front window.
144. Close the LH front door.
