Bracket - Power Strut - Liftgate - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace)

Equipment:
  • 1080562-00-A Telescoping Hood Prop

Remove

  1. Open the liftgate.
  2. Use a telescoping hood prop to support the liftgate.
  3. Release the liftgate power strut upper ball stud that is attached to the liftgate, and then lay the strut down on the door jamb.
    Note
    Place a shop towel on the LH side trunk jamb.
  4. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the liftgate power strut bracket to the body, and then remove the bracket from the vehicle.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T45 socket

Install

  1. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the liftgate power strut bracket to the body.
    24 Nm (17.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T45 socket
  2. Install the liftgate power strut upper ball stud to the liftgate.
    Note
    Remove the shop towel from the LH side trunk jamb.
  3. Remove the telescoping hood prop.
  4. Close the liftgate.
