Deadfronts - Pin - Charge Port (NACS) (Remove and Replace)

Equipment:
  • 1552269-00-A Dead Front Install Tool
  • 2026-04-15: Released new procedure.

Remove

  1. Perform the charge port voltage check procedure. See Charge Port Voltage Check.
  2. Remove HV insulating gloves.
  3. Carefully grab the front deadfront, then pull to remove it from the charge port assembly.
  4. Carefully grab the rear deadfront, then pull to remove it from the charge port assembly.
  5. Clean any debris from the charge port assembly.

Install

  1. Install the charge port pin deadfront onto the pin of the deadfront installation tool, align the rear deadfront with the rear power terminal, then strike the tool with a hammer until the pin is fully seated.
  2. Install the charge port pin deadfront onto the pin of the deadfront installation tool, align the front deadfront with the rear power terminal, then strike the tool with a hammer until the pin is fully seated.
  3. Connect the LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  4. Close the hood and charge port door.
  5. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
