Remove
- Remove the rear fascia assembly. See Assembly - Fascia and Diffuser - Rear (Remove and Install) or, for Mobile Service, see Fascia Assembly - Rear - Partially Remove (Mobile Only) (Remove and Install).

Disconnect the trailer hitch
controller connectors (x2).
NotePull the yellow tabs first.

Remove the nut that attaches the trailer hitch controller to the hitch
assembly.
NotePay attention to the locating pin.TipUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
Install

Align the locating pin with the slot on the hitch assembly, and then install the nut
that attaches the trailer hitch controller to the hitch assembly.
6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)TipUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- 10 mm socket

Connect the trailer hitch controller
connectors (x2).
- Reinstall the vehicle firmware. See Software Reinstall - Touchscreen.
- Install the rear fascia assembly. See Assembly - Fascia and Diffuser - Rear (Remove and Install) or, for Mobile Service, see Fascia Assembly - Rear - Partially Remove (Mobile Only) (Remove and Install).
