Frame - Cushion - Driver Seat (Model YL) (Remove and Install)

Torque Specifications

Remove

  1. Remove the driver seat assembly. See 1st Row Seat- LH (Remove and Install)
  2. Remove the driver seat outboard side shield carrier. See Carrier - Side Shield - Outboard - Driver Seat (Model YL / Model Y Performance) (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the driver seat inboard side shield carrier. See Carrier - Side Shield - Inboard - Driver Seat (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  4. Release the safety lock, and then disconnect the driver seatbelt pretensioner connector.
  5. Release the seatbelt pretensioner harness from the harness bracket.
    Note
    Move the harness bracket forward and then backward to remove.
  6. Release the seatbelt buckle harness from the seat cushion frame.
    Note
    Move the harness bracket forward and then backward to remove.
  7. Disconnect the seatbelt buckle connector, and then release the clip and hook.
  8. Rotate the seat to gain access to the underside of the seat cushion frame.
    Tip
    Protect the seat cushion from damage.
  9. Disconnect the driver seat cushion extender motor connector.
  10. Disconnect the driver seat cushion blower connector.
  11. Release the clips (x3) that attach the driver seat track motor harness to the track motor bridge.
  12. Disconnect the driver seat track motor connector.
  13. Disconnect the driver seat tilt motor connector.
  14. Disconnect the driver seat height adjuster motor connector.
  15. Remove the clips (x2) that attach the driver seat switch harness to the seat cushion frame.
  16. Release the clips (x2) and tab that attach the driver seat cushion blower to the driver seat cushion frame, and then remove the cushion blower from the seat assembly.
  17. Remove the driver seat cushion suspension. See Suspension - Cushion - Driver Seat (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  18. Remove the driver seat cushion assembly from the seat frame. See Cover - Cushion - Driver Seat (Model YL / Model Y Performance) (Remove and Replace).
    Note
    It is not necessary to separate the cushion cover and cushion foam.
  19. Remove and discard the inboard and outboard bolts (x4) that attach the seatback frame to the seat cushion frame.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 socket
  20. Lift the driver seat back frame assembly up to remove it.
    CAUTION
    Take care not to damage the harness.
  21. Remove and discard the patch bolt that attaches the driver seat belt buckle to the driver seat cushion frame.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 socket
  22. Remove and discard the patch bolt that attaches the driver seat pretensioner to the driver seat cushion frame.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 socket
  23. Remove the track covers (x4) from the driver seat cushion frame.

Install

  1. Install the track covers (x4) to the driver seat cushion frame.
  2. Align the locator pin, and then install a new patch bolt that attaches the driver seat pretensioner to the driver seat cushion frame.
    40 Nm (29.5 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 socket
  3. Align the locator pin, and then install a new patch bolt that attaches the driver seat belt buckle to the driver seat cushion frame.
    40 Nm (29.5 lbs-ft)
    • Torx T50 socket
  4. Install the driver seat back frame assembly to the driver seat cushion frame.
    CAUTION
    Take care not to damage the harness.
  5. Install new inboard and outboard bolts (x4) that attach the seatback frame to the seat cushion frame.
    43 Nm (31.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 socket
  6. Install the driver seat cushion assembly from the seat frame. See Cover - Cushion - Driver Seat (Model YL / Model Y Performance) (Remove and Replace).
  7. Install the driver seat cushion suspension. See Suspension - Cushion - Driver Seat (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the clips (x2) and tab that attach the driver seat cushion blower to the driver seat cushion frame.
  9. Install the clips (x2) that attach the driver seat switch harness to the seat cushion frame.
  10. Connect the driver seat track motor connector.
  11. Connect the driver seat height adjuster motor connector.
  12. Connect the driver seat tilt motor connector.
  13. Install the clips (x3) that attach the driver seat track motor harness to the track motor bridge.
  14. Connect the driver seat cushion blower connector.
  15. Connect the driver seat cushion extender motor connector.
  16. Return the seat to the upright position.
  17. Install the seatbelt pretensioner harness bracket.
    Note
    Slide the bracket under the frame, and then move it backward to install.
  18. Connect the driver seat belt pretensioner connector.
    Note
    Ensure the connector safety lock is engaged.
  19. Connect the driver seat belt buckle connector, and then engage the clip and hook.
  20. Install the seatbelt buckle harness bracket.
    Note
    Slide the bracket under the frame, and then move it backward to install.
  21. Install the driver seat outboard side shield carrier. See Carrier - Side Shield - Outboard - Driver Seat (Model YL / Model Y Performance) (Remove and Replace).
  22. Install the driver seat inboard side shield carrier. See Carrier - Side Shield - Inboard - Driver Seat (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  23. Install the driver seat assembly. See 1st Row Seat- LH (Remove and Install)
