Coat Hook and Map Light Assembly - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Install)

Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the LH rear primary body seal. See Primary Body Seal - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the LH B-pillar lower trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  3. Release the clip that attaches the LH B-pillar lower air duct to the body.
  4. Release the clips (x5) that attach the LH B-pillar upper trim assembly to the vehicle, and then move the trim aside.
    Note
    Pull the bottom of the upper B-pillar inwards, and then pull the top to release the remaining clips.
  5. Push to open the LH coat hook.
  6. Release the tab to open the LH rear coat hook bolt cover.
  7. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH rear coat hook to the headliner.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
  8. Partially release the LH headliner, and then remove the bolt that attaches the LH front headliner to the body.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 socket
  9. Install an inflatable air bag to support the LH headliner.
    Note
    Take care not to over-support.
  10. Release the electrical harness clips (x2), and then disconnect the LH rear map light connector.
  11. Remove the screws (x5) that attach the LH coat hook and map light assembly to the vehicle.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  12. Remove the screws (x2) that attach the LH coat hook and map light assembly to the vehicle.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  13. Gently pry up the tabs (x3) to release the LH coat hook bezel from the headliner, and then rotate the coat hook bezel to remove the assembly from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Rotate the coat hook bezel, and then secure the tabs (x3) to install the LH coat hook bezel onto the headliner.
    Note
    Make sure the tabs are properly installed.
  2. Install the screws (x5) that attach the LH coat hook and map light assembly to the vehicle.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  3. Install the screws (x2) that attach the LH coat hook and map light assembly to the vehicle.
    2.5 Nm (1.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  4. Connect the LH rear map light connector, and then secure the electrical harness clips (x2).
  5. Release the air and remove the inflatable air bag.
  6. Install the bolt that attaches the LH front headliner to the body.
    2 Nm (1.5 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 socket
  7. Install the bolt that attaches the LH rear coat hook to the headliner.
    2.5 Nm (1.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
  8. Close the LH coat hook screw cover.
  9. Push to close the LH coat hook.
  10. Align location pins (x2) to the slots on the body, and then secure the clips (x5) that attach the LH upper B-pillar trim assembly to the vehicle.
    Note
    Lower the seat belt slider to align it with the B-pillar panel.
    Note
    Make sure that the air vent is properly installed.
  11. Install the clip that attaches the LH B-pillar lower air duct to the body.
  12. Install the LH B-pillar lower trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  13. Install the LH rear primary body seal. See Primary Body Seal - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
