  • Torque Wrench 1/4in Dr. + Angle - 1076971-02-A (for installation only)
Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove coolant bottle from supermanifold. See Service Kit- Coolant Bottle - Heat Pump (Remove and Replace).
  2. Release the locking tab, and then disconnect the electrical connector from the octovalve.
    CAUTION
DO NOT push down on the red locking tab. Pull the tab away from the connector until the connector is unlocked, and then continue pulling the main body of the connector to fully disconnect it.
  3. Remove the screws (x4) that attach octovalve to supermanifold and then remove the octovalve from the vehicle.
    Tip
Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
    • 4 in extension
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • Torque Wrench 1/4in Dr. + Angle - 1076971-02-A (for installation only)

Install

  1. Clean the contact surface between supermanifold and octovalve.
  2. Position octovalve to supermanifold and install the screws (x4) that attach the octovalve to supermanifold.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Note
Ensure the dowels on octovalve engage with the supermanifold before installing the screws.
    Tip
Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
    • 4 in extension
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • Torque Wrench 1/4in Dr. + Angle - 1076971-02-A (for installation only)
  3. Connect the electrical connector on the octovalve.
    CAUTION
Push the red locking tab towards the connector to engage the locking mechanism. DO NOT push down or pull up on the red locking tab.
  4. Install coolant bottle to supermanifold. See Service Kit- Coolant Bottle - Heat Pump (Remove and Replace).
  5. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
  6. On the touchscreen, tap the Service Mode "wrench" (at the bottom of the touchscreen UI), and then perform the following routines:
    1. Tap Thermal > Actions > Stop Thermal Fill/Drain > Run, and allow the routine to complete.
    2. Tap Thermal > Coolant System > Coolant Valve Test > Run, and allow the routine to complete.
    3. Tap Thermal > Coolant System > Coolant Purge Start > Run, and allow the routine to complete.
      Note
Make sure vehicle is not in Drive, shifting the vehicle into Drive will stop this routine. The test will last approximately 10 mins. The test will vary speeds from 3500-6500 RPM (idle speed = ~1500 RPM) and actuate the valve between series and parallel. If speed hovers at 7000 RPM, it indicates the pump is air locked, perform the vacuum fill again. Continue to add coolant and purge until the coolant level reaches between the NOM and MAX Lines on the bottle.
  7. Remove the fluid catcher from underneath the front of the vehicle.
  8. Install the front aero shield panel. See Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  10. Inspect the coolant level and top off as necessary, and then install the coolant bottle cap.
    Note
Ensure that the coolant level is at the "Max" line.
  11. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  12. Install the cabin intake duct. See Duct - Air Intake (Remove and Replace).
  13. Install the HEPA filter assembly. See HEPA And Carbon Filters (Remove and Replace).
