Center Console (Model Y L) (Remove and Install)

Torque Specifications

  • 10 mm deep socket
 Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the center console rear end panel. See Rear End Panel - Lower - Center Console (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
    Note
    During removal, certain steps require extra care. See the animation(s) for detailed guidance.
  2. Disconnect the cup holder speaker connector.
  3. Remove the bolts (x2) that attaches the LH and RH rear of the center console to the body.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
  4. Remove the center console LH and RH front side panels. See Side Panel - Front - Center Console - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the LH and RH front exterior of the center console to the body.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
  6. Disconnect the LV battery power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  7. Release the center console connector.
  8. Disconnect the harness connector from the right front of the center console.
  9. Remove the center console from the vehicle as follows:
    1. Tilt the rear of the center console upwards.
    2. Pull the center console towards the rear of the vehicle.
    3. Tilt the front of the center console upwards.
    4. Remove the center console through the passenger front door.

Install

  1. With an assistant, install the center console into the vehicle as follows:
    1. Tilt the front of the center console downwards.
    2. Slide the center console towards the front of the vehicle.
    3. Tilt the rear of the center console downwards until it is in place.
  2. Connect the harness connector from the right front of the center console.
  3. Secure the center console connector.
  4. Install the bolts (x4) that attach the LH and RH front exterior of the center console to the body.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
  5. Install the center console LH and RH front side panels. See Side Panel - Front - Center Console - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  6. Connect the LV battery power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  7. Install the bolts (x2) that attaches the LH and RH rear of the center console to the body.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
  8. Connect the cup holder speaker connector.
  9. Install the center console rear end panel. See Rear End Panel - Lower - Center Console (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
