Fascia - Rear - Lower (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the rear fascia assembly. See Fascia - Rear - Upper (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Install).
  2. Release the tabs (x9) that attach the rear diffuser to the rear lower fascia.
  3. Disconnect the rear license plate LH lamp connector.
  4. Remove rear license plate LH lamp.
    Note
    Use a small screwdriver to apply force outwards, and then pull the lamp out backwards.
  5. Disconnect the rear license plate RH lamp connector.
  6. Remove the rear license plate RH lamp.
    Note
    Use a small screwdriver to apply force outwards, and then pull the lamp out backwards.
  7. Remove LH rear reflex.
    Note
    Pull outwards from the inner edge with a trim tool to release the reflex.
  8. Remove the RH rear reflex.
    Note
    Pull outwards from the inner edge with a trim tool to release the reflex.
  9. Disconnect RH rear BLE connector
    Note
    1x connector, Disengage locking tab
  10. Disconnect LH rear BLE connector
    Note
    1x connector, Disengage locking tab
  11. Remove bolts securing LH rear upper fascia to rear lower fascia
    Note
    2x bolts, T30, 3 Nm
  12. Remove LH rear upper fascia from lower rear fascia
    Note
    7x clips
  13. Remove bolts securing RH rear upper fascia to rear lower fascia
    Note
    2x bolts, T30, 3 Nm
  14. Remove RH rear upper fascia from lower rear fascia
    Note
    7x clips

Install

  1. Install the clips (x7) that install the RH rear upper fascia to the lower rear fascia.
    Note
    7x clips
  2. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the RH rear upper fascia to the rear lower fascia.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
  3. Install the clips (x7) that attach the LH rear upper fascia to the lower rear fascia.
  4. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear upper fascia to the rear lower fascia.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
  5. Connect the LH rear BLE connector.
  6. Install the LH rear reflex.
    Note
    Push firmly inward to attach the reflex.
  7. Install the RH rear reflex.
    Note
    Push firmly inward to attach the reflex.
  8. Connect the RH rear BLE connector.
  9. Install the rear license plate LH lamp to the fascia assembly.
    Note
    Push in until you hear two "click" sounds.
  10. Connect the rear license plate LH lamp connector.
  11. Install the rear license plate RH lamp to the fascia assembly.

    Push in until you hear two "click" sounds.
  12. Connect the rear license plate RH lamp connector.
  13. Install the tabs (x9) that attach the rear diffuser to the rear lower fascia.
