Gap Hider - Upper - Steering Column (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the steering column lower gap hider. See Gap Hider - Lower - Steering Column (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Replace).
  2. Apply tape on the IP pillar.
  3. Remove the bolt that attaches the upper gap hider to the steering column.
    Note
    1x bolt, 1x datum
  4. Remove the screws that attach the instrument panel assembly to the cross car beam on the lower LH side.
    Note
    4x screws, 3x datums
  5. Remove the upper gap hider.
    Note
    Slightly pull the instrument panel outward to give more access to remove the upper gap hider.

Install

  1. Install the upper gap hider.
    Note
    Slightly pull the instrument panel outward to give more access to install the upper gap hider.
  2. Install the bolt and datum that attaches the upper gap hider to the steering column.
    1.2 Nm (.9 lbs-ft)
  3. Remove the masking tape from the instrument panel.
  4. Install the steering column lower gap hider. See Gap Hider - Lower - Steering Column (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Replace).
