Remove

Remove the LH rear window regulator
closeout panel. See Window Regulator Closeout - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
NoteDiscontinue the referenced procedure after removing the closeout panel from the door. Do not remove the window regulator from the closeout panel.

Use tape to mark the position of the
LH rear door check strap.

Remove the bolt that attaches the LH
rear door check strap to the body.
NoteUnbolting the door check allows the door to swing freely beyond opening limits.TipUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T40 socket
- 4 in extension
- Ratchet/torque wrench

Remove the nuts (x2) that attach the
LH rear door check strap to the LH rear door.
TipUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- 10 mm deep socket

Reach inside the door opening and remove the check strap from the
door.
Install
- Position the check strap through the door opening.

Install the nuts (x2) that attach the
LH rear door check strap to the LH rear door.
10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)TipUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- Ratchet/torque wrench
- 10 mm deep socket

Install the bolt that attaches the LH
rear door check strap to the body.
24 Nm (17.7 lbs-ft)TipUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- Torx T40 socket
- 4 in extension
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Remove the masking tapes.
- Install the LH rear window regulator closeout panel. See Window Regulator Closeout - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
