Insulator - Rear Quarter Panel - RH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the RH rear door and lower the RH rear window.
  2. Move the RH 2nd row seat forward.
    Note
    Adjust the seat back if needed.
  3. Open the liftgate.
  4. Fold the 3rd row seatback down.
    Note
    Protect the seat back upholstery from any potential scratch or damage.
  5. Remove the RH C-pillar lower trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  6. Release the clips (x14), locator pins (x2), and tabs (x2) that attach the RH trunk side trim to the body.
    Note
    This is to aid the removal of the C-pillar upper trim.
  7. Release the clips (x10), locator pins (x4), and tabs (x3) that attach the RH C-pillar upper trim to the body.
  8. Remove the bolt that attaches the RH body harness ground strap to the RH rear quarter panel.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  9. Release the clips (x5) that attach the RH body harness to the RH rear quarter panel.
  10. Release the clips (x6) that attach the RH rear quarter panel insulator to the body, and then remove the insulator from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Install the clips (x6) that attach the RH rear quarter panel insulator to the body.
  2. Install the clips (x5) that attach the RH body harness to the RH rear quarter panel.
  3. Install the bolt that attaches the RH body harness ground strap to the RH rear quarter panel.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  4. Install the clips (x10), locator pins (x4), and tabs (x3) that attach the RH C-pillar upper trim to the body.
    Note
    While installing the upper trim, make sure that the air vent is properly installed.
    Note
    After installation, make sure that the seal fully covers the edge of the trim.
  5. Install the clips (x14), locator pins (x2), and tabs (x2) that attach the RH trunk side trim to the body.
    Note
    After installation, make sure that the seal fully covers the edge of the trim.
  6. Move the 3rd row seatback back to its original position.
  7. Close the liftgate.
  8. Install the RH C-pillar lower trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  9. Move the RH 2nd row seat back to its original position.
  10. Raise the RH rear window and close the RH rear door.
