Tail Lamp - Liftgate (Remove and Replace)

Note
Make sure the liftgate is closed during the process.

Remove

  1. Remove the liftgate tail lamp assembly. See Assembly - Tail Lamp - Liftgate (Remove and Install).
  2. Remove the bolts that attach the liftgate switch cover to the tail lamp assembly.
    Note
    The number of bolts may vary by region.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 bit

  3. Remove the bolts (x4) and clips (x14) that attach the liftgate applique to the tail lamp.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T10 bit

Install

  1. Install the bolts (x4) and clips (x14) that attach the liftgate applique to the tail lamp.
    1.5 Nm (1.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T10 bit
  2. Install the bolts that attach the liftgate switch cover to the tail lamp assembly.
    1.5 Nm (1.1 lbs-ft)

    • Torx T20 bit

  3. Install the liftgate tail lamp assembly. See Assembly - Tail Lamp - Liftgate (Remove and Install).
  4. Place the vehicle in Service Mode by using the touchscreen. See Service Mode.
  5. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
  6. On the touchscreen, tap the Service Mode "wrench" (at the bottom of the touchscreen UI), and then tap Driver Assist > Cameras > Clear Camera Calibration, select RearView in the Camera Selection drop list, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  7. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  8. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
