Interior Radar (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Replace)

Torque Specifications

  • 10 mm deep socket

  • Torx Plus EP30 socket
 Reuse Do not use regular Torx if the fastener is Torx Plus.

Remove

  1. Open the front doors and lower the windows.
  2. Partially remove the LH A-pillar trim.
    Note
    4x clips, 1x datum. Pull inwards at upper section of trim to release. The trim does not need to be fully removed. Allow trim to hang it from the tether.
  3. Remove the LH sun visor. See Sun Visor - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Partially remove the LH front primary seal from the body.
    Note
    Start from the upper corner closest to upper B-pillar. Pull straight down along the length of the seal.
  5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 at the RH side of the vehicle.
  6. Release the clips (x5) that attach the front center of the headliner to the body to gain access to the interior radar.
    CAUTION
    Take care not to bend the headliner. Replace any damaged clips.
  7. Install inflatable airbags under the headliner.
  8. Disconnect the interior radar connector.
  9. Remove the bolt that attaches the interior radar to the body, then use a clip pry tool to release the clip, and then remove the interior radar from the vehicle.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket

      or

    • Torx Plus EP30 socket

Install

  1. Fasten the clip, and then install the bolt that attaches the interior radar to the body.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket

      or

    • Torx Plus EP30 socket
  2. Connect the interior radar connector.
  3. Remove the inflatable airbags from in between the headliner.
  4. Install the clips that attach the front center of the headliner to the body.
    CAUTION
    Take care not to bend the headliner. Replace any damaged clips.
  5. Reinstall the LH sun visor. See Sun Visor - LH (Remove and Replace)
  6. Reinstall the LH A-pillar trim.
  7. Reinstall the LH front primary seal.
  8. Repeat steps 5 to 7 on the RH side of the vehicle.
  9. Reinstall the software. See Software Reinstall - Touchscreen.
  10. Raise the windows and close the doors.
