Door - Front - LH (Remove and Install)

Torque Specifications

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Remove the driver footwell hush panel. See Hush Panel - Footwell - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Disconnect the LV battery power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  5. Disconnect the J7 front door connector.
  6. Release the grommet and remove the LH front door harness from the A-pillar area.
    Note
    Push the harness through the bulkhead from the A-pillar area.
  7. Apply tape to the LH front fender area.
  8. Apply tape surrounding the hinges to mark the installation position.
  9. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH front door check strap to the body.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T40 socket
  10. Release the nuts (x2) that attach the LH front upper and lower door hinges to the door.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Combination Wrench 12pt 13mm
  11. With assistance, lift the LH front door assembly up from the vehicle, and place it on a padded surface.

Install

  1. With assistance, position the LH front door assembly to the vehicle, and hand-tighten the nuts (x2) that attach the LH front lower and upper door hinges to the door.
  2. Install the bolt that attaches the LH front door check strap to the body.
    24 Nm (17.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T40 socket
  3. Route the LH front door harness through the outer A-pillar and install the grommet.
    Note
    Verify the seal if fully seated around the black grommet prior to installing.
  4. Connect the J7 front door connector.
  5. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Install the driver footwell hush panel. See Hush Panel - Footwell - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  7. Connect the LV battery power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  8. Close the LH front door.
  9. Close the LH front door to check for gap/flushness.
    Note
    Adjust the LH front door if necessary. See Panel Alignment Specifications.
  10. Open the LH front door.
  11. Torque the nuts (x2) that attach the LH front lower and upper door hinges to the door.
    26 Nm (19.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Combination Wrench 12pt 13mm
  12. Remove all masking tapes.
  13. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
