1st Row - Seat Belt Height Adjuster (Model YL) (Remove and Replace)

CAUTION
In the event of an airbag or seatbelt pretensioner deployment, certain components must be replaced, and other components must be inspected for damage. Refer to the Collision Repair Manual for a specific list of items that must be inspected and replaced.

Torque Specifications

Remove

  1. Remove the LH B-pillar lower trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  2. Release the clip that attaches the LH B-pillar lower air duct to the body.
  3. Release the clips (x5) that attach the LH B-pillar upper trim assembly to the vehicle, and then move the trim aside.
    Note
    Pull the bottom of the upper B-pillar inwards, and then pull the top to release the remaining clips.
  4. Remove and discard the patch bolt that attaches the LH upper D-ring to the adjustable top loop.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 socket
  5. Remove and discard the bolt that attaches the LH height adjuster to the body.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T40 socket
  6. Release the tabs (x2) that attach the LH height adjuster to the body, and then remove the height adjuster from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Position the LH height adjuster to the body, and then install the tabs (x2) that attach the height adjuster to the vehicle.
  2. Install a new patch bolt that attaches the LH height adjuster to the body.
    20 Nm (14.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T40 socket
  3. Install a new patch bolt (1786770-00-A) to attach the LH upper D-ring to the top loop.
    30 Nm (22.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 socket
  4. Align location pins (x2) to the slots on the body, and then secure the clips (x5) that attach the LH upper B-pillar trim assembly to the vehicle.
    Note
    Lower the seat belt slider to align it with the B-pillar panel.
    Note
    Make sure that the air vent is properly installed.
  5. Install the clip that attaches the LH B-pillar lower air duct to the body.
  6. Install the LH B-pillar lower trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
