Switch - Child Safety - Underhood Storage Area (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Open the hood.
  3. Remove the tow hook from the access panel.
  4. Release the clips (x3), the guide tabs (x3) and the connector that attach the access panel to the vehicle.

    Note
    Grasp the access panel at the top and pull it back to release the clips.
  5. Release tabs (x4) to remove the child safety switch from the access panel.

Install

  1. Align the location pin on the switch with the location slot on the panel, then secure the tabs (x4) to install the child safety switch to the access panel.
  2. Connect the connector, and then install the clips (x3) and the guide tabs (x3) that attach the access panel to the vehicle.

    Align the guide tabs, and then push forward to secure the clips.
  3. Install the tow hook to the access panel.
  4. Close the hood.
  5. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
