Note
There are 2 types of phone docks on the 2024+ Model 3: a clip-secured type on vehicles built before March 3rd, 2024, and a screw-secured type on vehicles built on or after March 3rd, 2024.

CAUTION
To avoid damage, do not perform this procedure on a vehicle built on or after March 3rd, 2024 or if the vehicle build date is unknown. Refer to Phone Dock (Screw) - Center Console (Remove and Replace).

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Release the clips (x4) and tabs (x6) that attach the phone dock to the center console.

    Note
    Pull the bottom of the phone dock rearward along the center console.

    CAUTION
    Do not use excessive force. If the phone dock will not release, refer to Phone Dock (Screw) - Center Console (Remove and Replace).
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector, and then remove the phone dock from the instrument panel.
  4. Remove the screws (x3) that attach the inductive charger to the phone dock.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  5. Release the tabs (x2) and datums (x2) that attach the inductive charger to the phone dock, and then remove the inductive charger from the phone dock.

    Note
    Angle the inductive charger up and slide out of the phone dock.

Install

  1. Fasten the tabs (x2) and datums (x2) that attach the inductive charger into the phone dock.

    Note
    Slide the inductive charger datums into the phone dock, and then fully engage the tabs at the top of the phone dock.
  2. Install the screws (x3) that attach the inductive charger to the phone dock.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  3. Connect the electrical connector, and then install the phone dock to the instrument panel.
  4. Fasten the clips (x4) and tabs (x6) that attach the phone dock to the center console.

    Note
    Slide the datums forward into the center console, and then secure the tabs down.
  5. Reinstall the vehicle firmware. See Software Reinstall - Touchscreen.
  6. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
