Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the LH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  2. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH front brake hose bracket to the LH front knuckle.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  3. Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that attach the LH front brake caliper to the LH front knuckle, remove the caliper from the knuckle, and allow the caliper to hang from an S-hook.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • External Torx E18
  4. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH front brake rotor to the knuckle.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
  5. Remove the LH front rotor from the vehicle.
    Note
    Store the rotor face down to reduce likelihood of damage to the rotor face.

Install

  1. Install the LH front brake rotor onto the vehicle.
  2. Install the bolt that attaches the LH front brake rotor to the knuckle.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
  3. Install new bolts (x2) that attach the LH front caliper to the LH front knuckle.
    94 Nm (69.3 lbs-ft)
    Note
    Mark with a pen after installation.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • External Torx E18
  4. Install the bolt that attaches the LH front brake hose bracket to the LH front knuckle.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  5. Install the LH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  6. Burnish the brakes. See Brake Pads - Burnishing.
    Note
    During vehicle driving, make sure that proper brake pedal feel and performance is achieved.
    Note
    Add the correction code for brake pad burnishing 33013000 as a separate correction within the same activity to the Service Visit.
