Sensor - Ride Height - Front - LH (Retrofit)

Note

The replacement front ride height sensor comes with a new mounting bracket.

Open LH front door
Raise and support vehicle

Note
Prepare to raise vehicle, Set air suspension to "Jack Mode", Position lift arm pads on vehicle jack pads
Remove lug nut covers from LH front wheel

Note
5x covers
Loosen LH front wheel

Note
5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm
Raise vehicle partially and lower onto locks

Note
Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to side
Remove LH front wheel

5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm
Remove indicated nut and clip securing rear half of LH front wheelhouse liner to body

Note
1x nut, 10mm, 4 Nm, 1x push clips, Move aside for access
Disconnect LH front air suspension height sensor

Note
1x connector, Position wheelhouse liner away from body
Remove nut securing LH front air suspension height sensor assembly to FUCA

Note
1x nut, 10mm, 7 Nm, Counter hold the joint with a wrench to allow removal, Discard after removal
Remove nut securing LH front air suspension height sensor assembly and remove from vehicle

Note
2x nut, 10mm, 7 Nm, Discard after removal
Transfer ride height sensor bracket from original sensor to new sensor

Note
4x screws, T20, 4.3 Nm
Install nuts securing LH front air suspension height sensor assembly to body

Note
2x nuts, 10 mm, 7 Nm, Install new nyloc nuts
Install nut securing LH front air suspension height sensor assembly to FUCA

Note
1x nut, 10mm, 7 Nm, Install new nyloc nut, Counter hold the joint with a wrench to allow installation
Release secondary lock from new height sensor connector

Note
Locking tab can be removed completely and will be re-installed at a later step
Release secondary lock from original ride height connector

Note
Locking tab can be removed completely
Peel back the ride height sensor harness on body side

Note
Peel back the ride height sensor harness branch to reveal wires and wire color
Depin BK/GY wire from pin 1 of x182

Note
Release terminal from pin 1 using the flat twin blade terminal release tool
Insert BK-GY wire from pin 1 into pin 1 of new connector housing

Note
Insert terminal into pin 1 of new connector housing, Perform push pull push test and verify terminal is fully locked
Depin BN-GY wire from pin 3 of x182

Note
Release terminal from pin 3 using the flat twin blade terminal release tool
Insert BN-GY wire from pin 3 into pin 2 of new connector

Note
Insert terminal into pin 2 of new connector housing, Perform push pull push test and verify terminal is fully locked
Depin DB-GY wire from pin 2 of x182

Note
Release terminal from pin 2 using the flat twin blade terminal release tool
Insert DB-GY wire from pin 2 into pin 3 of new connector housing

Note
Insert terminal into pin 3 of new connector housing, Perform push pull push test and verify terminal is fully locked
Secure secondary lock onto new height sensor connector

Note
Secure and fully engage the terminal lock
Re-apply tape over wires secure corrugate tubing over the ride height sensor harness branch

Note
Re-apply electrical tape over wires and secure corrugate tubing
Connect LH front air suspension height sensor
Install nut and clip securing rear half of LH front wheelhouse liner to body

Note
1x nut, 10mm, 4 Nm, 1x push clips
Install LH front wheel

Note
5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm, Start lug nuts by hand before using power tool
Lower vehicle until tires are touching ground

Note
Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered
Torque LH front wheel

Note
5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm
Install LH front lug nut covers

Note
5x covers
Remove vehicle from lift

Note
Lower rack arms fully and remove them from under vehicle, Remove air suspension from "Jack Mode" via Controls > Service > '' JACK MODE''
Perform a ride height adjustment. See Ride Height - Adjust.
Remove vehicle from 4-post lift

Note
Remove suspension from Jack Mode, Release passenger seat belt from driver buckle
