Hinge - Door - Rear - Upper- LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open LH rear door
  2. Lower LH rear window
  3. Apply tape around perimeter of the hinge
    Note
    This will help with alignment during installation
  4. Support LH rear door with floor jack
    Note
    Protect painted surface with soft object
  5. Remove bolts securing LH rear door upper hinge to door assembly
    Note
    2x bolts, 13mm, 31 Nm
  6. Remove bolts securing LH rear door upper hinge to body
    Note
    2x bolts, 13mm, 52 Nm
  7. Remove LH rear door upper hinge
    Note
    May need to lower door support to create a gap between door and body

Install

  1. Position LH rear door upper hinge
    Note
    Align hinge to original position
  2. Install bolts securing LH rear door upper hinge to body
    Note
    2x bolts, 13mm, 52 Nm, Partially close door to install bolts
  3. Install bolts securing LH rear door upper hinge to door assembly
    Note
    2x bolts, 13mm, 31 Nm
  4. Remove floor jack from LH rear door
  5. Close LH rear door
  6. Check gap and flushness between LH rear door and surrounding components
    Note
    Measure 4x spots labeled in picture
    Note
    See
  7. Open LH rear door
  8. Clean body side upper hinge bolts with IPA
    Note
    Allow 1 minute for IPA to dry
  9. Remove tape around perimeter of hinge
  10. Apply touch up paint to body side upper hinge bolts
    Note
    2x bolts, make sure to shake touch up paint before applying
  11. Raise LH rear window
  12. Close LH rear door
