Aero Shield Support Tab - HV Battery 2.0 (Remove and Replace)

Correction Code 16012042 (HV Battery already removed), 16012052 (HV Battery not yet removed)

Removal

  1. Remove the HV Battery, if not already removed. See HV Battery (RWD/AWD) (Remove and Install)

    Note
    Make sure that the HV, LV, and coolant connectors are covered.
  2. Remove and discard the screws (x2) that attach the broken aero shield support tab to the HV battery, and then remove and discard the broken aero shield tab.

Installation

  1. Clean the HV battery with IPA wipes in the area shown, and allow 1 minute to dry.

    CAUTION
    Do not use anything else than isopropyl alcohol (IPA) to clean the HV battery enclosure. Using other chemicals, such as brake cleaner, might corrode the coating on the HV battery enclosure.
  2. Clean the new aero shield support tab with IPA wipes, and allow 1 minute to dry.
  3. Apply a bead of ThreeBond 1216E Silicone Sealant along the bottom of the new aero shield support tab
  4. Put the new aero shield support tab in place, and then install 2 new screws (M5 x 10, torque 4.5 Nm) to attach it to the HV battery. Mark each fastener with a paint pen after it has been torqued.

    Note
    If the threads were stripped, use an M6 tap to create new threads and install new M6x10 screws.
  5. Remove any excess sealant that squeezed out from under the aero shield support tab.
  6. Reinstall the HV Battery. See HV Battery (RWD/AWD) (Remove and Install)
