Condenser - Sub-Cool - RH (Remove and Replace)

Note
This procedure requires the A/C Refrigerant (Recovery and Recharge) procedure to be performed. If not already automatically added to the Service Visit, add correction code 18200102 as a separate correction within the same activity to the Service Visit.

Removal

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the vehicle. See A/C Refrigerant Recovery and Recharge (Remove and Replace) .
  2. Remove front aero shield panel (refer to procedure)
  3. Remove front RH wheel arch liner (refer to procedure)
  4. Remove bolts (x2) securing front bumper panel support bar and remove (torque 11 Nm).
  5. Remove nuts (x2) securing two air conditioning pipes (inboard) to condenser (torque 8 Nm).
  6. Release pipes and tie aside.
    CAUTION
    Plug pipe connections to prevent ingress of moisture or dirt.
    CAUTION
    Remove and discard O-rings.
  7. Disconnect condenser fan motor connector.
  8. Remove the screws (x4) that attach the condenser brackets (torque 3 Nm).
    • Rear Wheel Drive - 4 bolts on the bottom of the fan.
    • Dual Motor - 4 bolts on top of the fan.
  9. Release condenser from the mounting and collect the brackets.
  10. Release condenser from upper mounting and remove assembly from vehicle.
    CAUTION
    Exercise care when removing condenser to avoid damage.
  11. Remove bolts (x4) securing fan motor assembly to condenser and separate from fan assembly (torque 6 Nm).
