HV Harness - Rear Drive Unit to HVJB (Subframe Removed) (Remove & Replace)

Correction code 44501702

This procedure can be used as an add-on to procedure Drive Unit - Rear - Large (Remove and Replace), when the rear subframe is removed but the rear dive unit to HVJB HV harness could not be removed from the rear drive inverter due to it being corroded/seized at the inverter.

Remove

  1. Lower the vehicle to a comfortable working height (refer to procedure).
  2. Connect the12V battery negative terminal.
  3. Open all four doors.
  4. Move both front seats fully forward.
  5. Disconnect the 12V negative terminal.
  6. Remove the 2nd row seat frame:
  7. Remove the HVIL bolt from the HVJB cover. Do not remove the remaining fasteners at this time.
    • North America, Japan (torque 4 Nm)

      Note
      In North American and Japanese vehicles, the HVIL bolt is one-time use only. Install a new bolt during reinstallation.
    • Europe, APAC (torque 5 Nm)

      In European and APAC vehicles, the HVIL bolt can be reused during reinstallation.
  8. Remove the remaining fasteners that secure the HVJB cover.
    • North America, Japan (torque 8 Nm)

      In North American and Japanese vehicles, there are 5 additional fasteners.
    • Europe, APAC (torque 8 Nm)

      In European and APAC vehicles, there are 6 additional fasteners.
  9. Remove the nuts (x2) that attach rear drive inverter and HV battery cables to the HVJB (torque 9 Nm).
  10. Release the grommet at the body channel, and then remove the RDU HV cable harness from HVJB through the body channel.

Install

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.
