Rigid Pipe - Brake Caliper - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Warning
If the vehicle has air suspension, activate "Jack" mode on the touchscreen before raising and supporting the vehicle.

Removal

  1. Remove the front LH wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install) .
  2. Place an oil drain container under the LH front brake caliper.
  3. Clean the area around the LH front rigid pipe and brake caliper with brake cleaner, and then wipe off any residual brake cleaner.
  4. Remove the nuts (x2) that attach the LH front rigid pipe to the LH front brake caliper, and then remove the pipe from the vehicle.

    Note
    If a nut is seized, position a line wrench on the nut, and then apply force to the line wrench with a hammer or air hammer. Do not apply force directly on the nut.

Installation

  1. Position the new LH front rigid pipe on the LH front brake caliper, and then use a crow’s foot socket to install the nuts (x2) that attach the pipe to the caliper (torque 18.5 Nm).

    Note
    The LH and RH front rigid pipes are not interchangeable. Make sure to order the correct pipe for the caliper being repaired.
  2. Clean the area around the LH front rigid pipe and brake caliper with brake cleaner, and then wipe off any residual brake cleaner.
  3. Bleed the LH front brake caliper. See Bleed Procedure - One Caliper (Remove and Replace) .
