Sensor - T-Bar Accelerometer - LH (Remove and Replace)

Correction Code 20201102

Removal

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace) .
  3. Remove the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  4. Remove the front underhood apron See Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace) .
  5. Remove the HEPA filter inlet duct. See Duct - HEPA Filter - Inlet (Remove and Replace) .
  6. Remove the HEPA filter outlet duct. See Duct - HEPA Filter - Outlet (Remove and Replace) .
  7. Turn off the vehicle power from the touchscreen.
  8. Disconnect the First Responder Loop and 12V battery negative terminal.
  9. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install) .
  10. Remove the front fascia assembly. See Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install) .
  11. Disconnect the electrical connector from the LH t-bar accelerometer sensor.
  12. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH t-bar accelerometer sensor to the vehicle (torque 3.6 Nm), and then remove the sensor.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
After all components are reinstalled, perform the following steps:
  1. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  2. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway Unlock.
  3. In Toolbox 3, click Dashboards > Service Tools > DTCs, and then select SDM or RCM depending on the vehicle Restraint Control Type.
  4. Click Read DTCs to display the DTCs.
  5. Power cycle the vehicle.
  6. Click Clear DTCs to clear the DTCs.
  7. Disconnect the laptop with Toolbox 3 from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
