Module - Autopilot - ECU - 2nd and 3rd Generation (Remove and Replace)
Correction Code 17155202
- 2025-02-28: Clarified firmware installation steps for 2nd and 3rd generation ECU's.

Removal
- Open both front doors and lower both front windows.
- Remove the glove box. See Glove Box (Remove and Replace).
- Power down the vehicle from the touchscreen.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors from the Autopilot ECU.
- Remove and discard the nuts that secure the Autopilot ECU to the cross car beam (torque 5 Nm).
- Remove the Autopilot ECU from the vehicle.
Installation
Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
- Install new nuts (x4) that attach the car computer to the cross car beam.
- Deploy firmware to the replacement Autopilot ECU:
- 2nd Generation ECU:Reinstall the latest vehicle firmware, or update the firmware if not the latest. See Firmware Reinstall - Touchscreen or Firmware Update.
- 3rd Generation ECU: Reinstall the latest vehicle firmware via Garage: .
NoteMake sure all patches are applied before updating firmware, which might require alternative methods for completion.
Disposal
- Make sure to properly dispose of the old Autopilot ECU. Follow the instructions in Module - Autopilot - ECU (Dispose) and add correction code 17155007 as a separate activity to the Service Visit.
