Inline Fuse - E-Fuse to Cabin Body Controller (125A) (Remove and Replace)

Correction Code 17014112

Removal

  1. Remove the underhood fusebox. (refer to procedure).
  2. Remove the LH and RH shock tower brace (refer to procedure).
  3. Remove the wiper motor assembly (refer to procedure).
  4. Remove the brackets (x2) that attach the air suspension reservoir to the vehicle.

    Do not disconnect the air lines to the reservoir.

    Carefully move the reservoir out of the way, but do not remove it from the vehicle.
  5. Remove the bolt (x1) that attaches the 12V cable cover to the E-fuse assembly (torque 3.5 Nm).
  6. Remove the nut (x1) and clips that attach the E-fuse to the battery coolant heater bracket (torque 7 Nm).
  7. Remove the E-fuse cover.
  8. Remove the bolt (x1) that attaches the E-fuse to the DCDC positive cable (torque 5 Nm).
  9. Remove the screws (x3) that attach the E-fuse cover to the E-fuse (torque 2.7 Nm).

    Do not move the front drive unit coolant hose.

    1 of the screws is different than the other 2. Make sure to pay attention to the screw locations.
  10. Remove the bolt (x1) that attaches the "G" cable to the E-Fuse assembly (torque 5 Nm).
  11. Move the "G" cable to the RH side of the vehicle.

    This allows for access above the forward junction box.
  12. Use a blade knife to carefully remove the heat-shrink from the inline fuse housing.

    CAUTION
    Be careful not to damage any other components or wiring in the area.
  13. Release the clips (x2) that attach the inline fuse cover to the inline fuse.
  14. Remove the screws (x2) that attach the inline fuse and lower fuse housing to the cables (torque 8 Nm).

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
  • There are 2 different screws that attach the E-fuse cover to the E-fuse. Make sure that the correct screws are installed in the correct locations.
  • Use 3-1/2 in (90 mm) of heat-shrink on the new section of the cable on the E-fuse side.
  • Install tape between new heat-shrink tubing and existing cable protection.
