If the vehicle has air suspension, activate "Jack" mode on the touchscreen before raising and supporting the vehicle.

Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.

    Do not work on an incorrectly supported vehicle.
  2. Remove the plastic rivets (x12, x14, or x15) that secure the front aero shield to the lower valance and subframe.

    Note
    Vehicles with the front aero shield installed do not have the 3 rivets that secure the rear of the front aero shield. However, there are 2 additional plastic rivets that need to be removed.

    Note
    Vehicles with a composite front carrier have bolts (x2) that secure the front corners of the aero shield (torque 4 Nm).
  3. Reposition the front fascia LH lower edge and remove the plastic rivet that secures the aero shield to the subframe.
  4. Repeat the previous step and remove the RH plastic rivet.
  5. Remove the bolts (x4) that secure the front aero shield to the body (torque 3 Nm).
  6. Remove the bolts (x4) that secure the front aero shield to the body (torque 4 Nm).
  7. Carefully release the front aero shield from the lower valance lip fixings (x3) and remove the aero shield.

Installation

  1. Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.
