Actuator - Intake (Remove and Replace)

This procedure requires the A/C Refrigerant (Recovery and Recharge) procedure to be performed. If not already automatically added to the Service Visit, add correction code 18200102 as a separate correction within the same activity to the Service Visit.

 Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the cowl screen panel. See Panel - Cowl Screen (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the HVAC assembly. See HVAC Assembly (Remove and Replace).
  3. Disconnect the intake actuator connector.
  4. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the intake actuator to the HVAC assembly, and then remove the intake actuator.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 6 mm socket
    • Wiha Torque Screwdriver 0.8-5 Nm screwdriver (installation only)

Install

  1. Position the intake actuator to the HVAC assembly, and then install the bolts (x2).
    2.3 Nm (1.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 6 mm socket
    • Wiha Torque Screwdriver 0.8-5 Nm screwdriver (installation only)
  2. Connect the intake actuator connector.
  3. Install the HVAC assembly. See HVAC Assembly (Remove and Replace).
  4. Connect a laptop with Toolbox to the vehicle. See Toolbox (Connect and Disconnect).
  5. Perform the following routine: TEST-SELF_VCRIGHT_X_HVAC-CASE-ACTUATORSvia Toolbox:(link)
  6. Remove the laptop from the vehicle.
  7. Exit Service Mode Plus. See Service Mode Plus.
  8. Install the cowl screen panel. See Panel - Cowl Screen (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  10. Raise all the windows and close all the doors.
