Applique - Liftgate (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Apply masking tape around the liftgate applique to protect the surrounding areas.
  2. Remove the liftgate applique.
    Note
    x5 clips.
    CAUTION
    The center of the liftgate applique is secured by clips. Take care not to damage liftgate applique or body.
    Note
    Recommend the use of the badge removal wire to release the adhesive on the taillights.
  3. Clean any residue on the mating surfaces of the liftgate applique with an Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) wipe. Allow 1 minute for the IPA to dry.
    Note
    Use your thumb to help roll off the adhesive.

Install

  1. Install the liftgate applique tape on the applique bracket, and then peel off the tape when the liftgate applique is to be installed.
    Note
    Do not to cover the rear facing camera.
  2. Install the liftgate applique.
    Note
    x5 clips.
    Note
    Align the liftgate applique using pin.
    CAUTION
    Peel off the tape when ready to install. Do not allow the ends to adhere before securing the center.
    Note
    Start by securing the center clips and work your way out towards the taillights.
  3. Apply masking tape as needed, and then hold down the fixture to the liftgate applique.
  4. Remove all masking tape and hold down tools from the liftgate.
    Note
    Remove hold down tools after 5 minutes for the liftgate applique to properly adhere.
