Sensor - Crash Accelerometer - LH (Remove and Replace)

CAUTION
Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) components can be hazardous if not serviced and handled correctly. See Air Bag and Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) Precautions
CAUTION
In the event of an airbag or seatbelt pretensioner deployment, certain components must be replaced, and other components must be inspected for damage. Refer to the Collision Repair Manual for a specific list of items that must be inspected and replaced.
  1. Open the LH front door.
  2. Lower the LH front window.
  3. Open the hood.
  4. Power off the vehicle using the touchscreen.
  5. Remove the rear underhood apron.
  6. Disconnect the LV battery connector and First Responder Loop.
  7. Remove the RH underhood apron.
  8. Remove the LH underhood apron.
  9. Remove the front underhood apron.
  10. Remove the underhood storage unit access panel.
  11. Remove the underhood storage unit carpet.
  12. Remove the underhood storage unit from the vehicle.
  13. Disconnect connector from shotgun accelerometer
    Note
    1x connector, pull red locking tap
  14. Removed bolt from sensor
    Note
    1x bolt, 10mm, 7Nm
  15. Remove shotgun accelerometer

  16. Install shotgun accelerometer
    Note
    1x tab
  17. Install bolt in sensor
    Note
    1x bolt, 10mm, 7Nm
  18. connect connector to shotgun accelerometer
    Note
    1x connector, push red locking tap
  19. Install the underhood storage unit.
  20. Install the underhood storage unit carpet.
  21. Install the underhood storage unit access panel.
  22. Install the front underhood apron.
  23. Install the LH underhood apron.
  24. Install the RH underhood apron.
  25. Connect the First Responder Loop and LV battery connector.
  26. Install the rear underhood apron.
  27. Close the hood.
  28. Calibrate LH and RH Falcon Wing doors from center display
    Note
    Calibration required after LV system is powered down > Service > Calibrate Doors > Hold down Calibrate doors until doors cycle > Calibration Complete Message will appear
  29. Raise the LH front window.
  30. Close the LH front door.
